This page is placeholder scaffolding written to cover what OfferPe actually collects and does today (referencing the app's real data model, including India's DPDP Act, 2023 in mind) — it is not legal advice, has not been reviewed by a lawyer, and must not be published or relied on as a final policy before that review happens.

1. Information we collect

We collect the following categories of information when you use the OfferPe app:

  • Phone number — used as your sole account identifier, verified via a one-time password (OTP). We do not require or collect an email address, password, or government ID.
  • Profile information — your name and city, and, only if you choose to grant location permission, your device's coordinates (used solely to suggest your nearest serviceable city; this permission is optional and never blocks sign-up).
  • Transaction data — records of the cashback and in-store discounts you earn or redeem, including which stores, brands, and offers you interact with.
  • Device push notification token — used to deliver order and cashback status updates to your device. You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings.
  • Usage and analytics data — which screens you view, which buttons you tap, and general app usage patterns, collected to help us understand and improve the app. This data is tied to a session identifier and, where you are signed in, your account — never to more information than described here.

2. How we use your information

We use the information above to:

  • Create and maintain your account, and verify your identity via OTP.
  • Calculate, credit, and display the cashback and discounts you earn.
  • Suggest a nearby city and show you relevant local in-store offers.
  • Send you notifications about your transactions and account.
  • Understand how the app is used, diagnose problems, and improve our product.
  • Meet our own legal, accounting, and fraud-prevention obligations.

3. Who we share information with

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the service providers that help us operate the app — currently our cloud database and authentication provider, and (where enabled) analytics infrastructure such as PostHog — and with the specific store or brand whose offer you redeem, to the extent needed to confirm and process that transaction.

4. Cashback is non-withdrawable

Cashback earned through OfferPe is credited as in-app store credit and is not withdrawable as cash. See our Terms of Service for details.

5. Your rights

You can review and update your profile information from within the app at any time. To request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data, contact us using the details below.

6. Data retention

We retain account and transaction data for as long as your account is active and as required to meet our legal and accounting obligations. Exact retention periods are being finalized as part of legal review.
